Massageboulevard Utrecht
On the ‘Amsterdamsestraatweg’, a street in the city of Utrecht, there are currently 12 Chinese Massage Parlors, of which there are two closed temporarily.
That is why this street is now called “Massage Boulevard”!
The usually small service businesses fit well in the picture, where the store base is rich in foreign bakeries, supermarkets, fruit shops and barber shops in a multicultural environment.
‘Amsterdamsestraatweg, also called ‘highway’ has been a long, straight road that starts from the district Pijlsweerd and further continues through the districts ‘Ondiep’ and ‘Zuilen’ to Amsterdam.
The length of this original road to Amsterdam is 5 kilometres and shows in any place his own face.
A unique blend of specialty you’ll find nowhere else, supermarkets, specialty shops for many cultures, beauty salons, known large stores, the bakery, the butcher and various catering companies, a total of about 300.

Especially in recent years also Chinese Massage Parlors have settled here, some with facilities including hair care, manicures, pedicures etc.
In recent months, however, there is much ado about alleged illegal activities in these salons, such as prostitution.
Some students of the Utrecht School of Journalism went some time ago with a hidden camera path along Chinese massage parlors and asked if there was a HE (Happy End) possible.
The attachment to this question was captured by the camera and into the news. This caused quite a stir caused the city council, specially for Miriam Bikker (CU) who had already pulled the alarm about possible illegal activities in Chinese Massage Salons and Beauty Salons.
Mayor Wolfsen used “mystery guests” to come on hard evidence, with the result that a number of Chinese Massage parlors for a period of 6 months had to close their doors.
Similar actions had already taken place in The Hague and Amsterdam, although it was used in the cities of the so-called ‘sperm lamp’.
You could say that it fits into the policy of the authorities in major cities to the increase in the number of Chinese massage parlors to contain.
Unfortunately the salons to Amsterdamsestraatweg by the media and government therefore put in a bad light, which is completely unjustified in most cases.
