Massageparlors forced to stop
More and more Chinese massageparlors in The Hague, but also in Utrecht and Amsterdam, are forced to close their doors.
The number of newly opened Chinese massage parlors has increased extreme in recent years, especially in the big cities.
At the ‘Rijswijkseweg’ in The Hague, where already exists a number of Thai massage parlors, more than 7 Chinese massageparlors opened their doors in only 1 year.
Also in the centre of The Hague, Wagenstraat, known as The Hague’s Chinatown, there is a proliferation of the number of massage parlors.
The Hague, through Mayor van Aartsen considers it with sorrow, especially since there are serious suspicions that several Chinese massage parlors are guilty on illegal prostitution, whether or not associated with human trafficking.
The salons have generally no license, which allows the provision of sexual services.
Basically, until now, little or nothing could be done at a new facility in an existing shop, because for this business no special license is required.
To counteract this kind of new branches in the future, there is presented a new concept for certain zoning districts in The Hague.
In addition, there are now more stringent checks and raid operations, during which the police will be assisted by members of the NFI.
Chinese massage parlors are investigated now using the so-called “sperm lamp” on traces that may indicate illegal sexual services.
So far there are in this way already 15 Chinese massage parlors in The Hague caught and be forced to close their business for at least six months.
According to Mayor van Aartsen will all Chinese, Thai and Beauty Salons are checked regularly.
In this way he wants to put an end to the nuisance and unwanted growth of Chinese massage parlors in The Hague.
In Amsterdam and Utrecht are also tighter controls, in Amsterdam 5 massageparlors had to close, in the city of Utrecht 4.
Nevertheless, new Chinese massage parlors are regularly opened in cheap rented retail buildings.
This trend will probably still continue as long as there is demand for these relatively cheap massages.
